Privacy

How we handle your information.

Nothing optional runs until you allow it. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off unless you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time. Beyond that, we only hold the personal information you choose to send through the enquiry form, by email or by phone.

Who we are

Johly Media (“we”, “us”) operates this website. For questions about this notice or about any information we hold, email hello@johlymedia.com.

Correspondence address: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.

Cookies and consent

On your first visit a banner asks what you’re comfortable with. Until you make a choice, no analytics or marketing script is loaded: not deferred, not anonymised, simply absent.

Essential. One small record in your browser storing the cookie choice itself. Always on, because without it we couldn’t remember that you said no to the rest.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Loads only if you accept it. Helps us understand which pages are found and used, with IP anonymisation enabled.

Marketing (Meta Pixel). Loads only if you accept it. Measures whether our advertising brings the right people here.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops optional scripts from that point on.

What this website collects

Beyond the choices above, nothing automatically. We do not build a profile of you.

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to send you the page and to keep the service secure and available. This is handled by our hosting provider as part of delivering the site, and is not used by us to identify or track individual visitors.

If you use the enquiry form

The form asks for your name, email address, optionally your business name, the service area you want to discuss and a description of the work. When you submit it, that message is emailed to us through Resend, our email delivery provider, who process it on our behalf in order to deliver it.

We do not store form submissions in a database. They arrive in our inbox and are kept according to the retention information below.

Spam protection on the enquiry form

The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for security and abuse prevention. When you submit the form, Cloudflare processes the technical browser and device information needed to distinguish people from automated bots, and we check the result on our server before your message is sent. We use Turnstile only for this purpose, not for advertising.

Portfolio video

Project videos are served directly from this website. Playing one does not connect you to YouTube, Vimeo or another video platform, and it does not set a third-party cookie.

If you email us

When you get in touch directly we receive whatever you include such as your name, email address and whatever you tell us about your business or project.

We use it for one thing: replying to you and, if it goes further, running the work you asked about. We don’t sell it, rent it, or add you to a marketing list you didn’t ask for.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests where we’re responding to an enquiry you started, and performance of a contract once we’re working together.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t turn into work are kept while they might still be relevant, then deleted. Records connected to work we’ve actually done are kept for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes, which in the UK is generally six years.

Who else sees it

Our hosting provider (Vercel) and our email delivery provider (Resend) process data on our behalf as part of running the service. Where a project needs a specialist or additional crew, they only ever see what they need to do that piece of work.

We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it for advertising.

Links to other sites

Some project pages link out to live client websites. Once you follow one of those links you’re on someone else’s site, under their privacy policy, not ours.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we’re using it. Email hello@johlymedia.comand we’ll deal with it within one month.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).

Changes to this notice

If we change how analytics works, add third-party embedded video or add another integration that changes what we collect, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
